Ved Mata-Devi Gaytri
देवी गायत्री वेद माता हैं। वेद का अर्थ है ज्ञान। गायत्री देवी सम्पूर्ण ज्ञान का स्त्रोत हैं, वे ज्ञान की अधिष्ठात्री देवी हैं। उनका दिव्य प्रकाश भक्तों पर पूर्ण ज्ञान और पूर्ण क्रिया शक्ति की वर्षा करता है।
गायत्री सहस्रनाम गायत्री देवी के १००० गुण हैं। उनका प्रत्येक नाम चेतना के एक-एक गुण को दर्शाता है और अत्यन्त महिमाकारी है। सहस्रनाम का पाठ करने वाले या श्रवण करने वाले की चेतना में तथा वातावरण में गायत्री जी के इन सभी गुणों का जागरण होता है।
श्री गायत्री अष्टोत्तरशतनामावली में गायत्री देवी के १०८ नाम हैं। इन नामों का उच्चारण करते हुए गायत्री देवी की पुष्पार्चना की जाती है। श्री गायत्री अष्टकम् एक सिध्द स्तोत्र है जो आनन्द और मनोवांछित फलदायक है।
फलश्रुति के अनुसार गायत्री सहस्रनाम तथा स्तोत्रों का पाठ या श्रवण करने से वेद माता के दिव्य प्रकाश से भक्तों को शुध्द ज्ञान की प्राप्ति होती है तथा उनमें ज्ञान पर आधारित अनन्त क्रिया शक्ति की जागृति होती है। शुक्रवार श्री गायत्री देवी का दिन माना गया है अतः शुक्रवार के दिन गायत्री देवी के स्तोत्र और सहस्रनाम सुनने की अनुशंसा की जाती है।
